A studio portrait photo of Wendell MacHattie taken in either Canada or England. The photo is attached to a large cloth type coloured patriotic background.

Wendell Alexander MacHattie was from South River Lake in Antigonish County, NS. He joined the 193rd Battalion (Nova Scotia Highlanders) in March of 1916 and went overseas with them in October of the same year. When the 193rd Battalion was disbanded in England in early 1917, Wendell was transferred to the 42nd Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada). He was killed in action with the 42nd Battalion at Vimy Ridge on April 9, 1917.
