In the centre of the photo is the commanding officer, Lt-Col. Frank Parker Day. To his right and slightly behind him is the adjutant, Capt. Roderick Colin Jackson. The four companies are grouped from left to right, A, B, C and D. Note the regimental band and the pipe band in the background.
