185th Battalion (Cape Breton Highlanders)

Broughton, NS

Spring, 1916

The 185th Battalion is on a route march led by its commanding officer, Lt-Col. Frank Parker Day. Directly behind Day, and only partly visible, is the battalion adjutant, Capt. Roderick Colin Jackson. The large building on the right is the Crown Hotel.
