RMS Adriatic

Circa 1918-1919

The RMS Adriatic was an ocean liner of the White Star Line. She was launched in 1906 and served on the North Atlantic run between England and New York City. Adriatic was the first ocean liner with a swimming pool and a Turkish bath. During the First World War she served as a troopship. She survived the war and was eventually scrapped in 1935.

The 85th Battalion boarded the Adriatic in Liverpool, England on May 31, 1919. They sailed into Halifax Harbour on June 8, 1919.
