Driver Herbert Howie

Canadian Field Artillery

Canada

Circa 1916

Driver Howie poses for a photo. The photo was probably taken in Canada before he went overseas. He is dressed in the standard Canadian Army uniform for an artillery unit which includes the leather ammunition bandolier across his chest. On his cap is a Canadian Artillery cap badge. His collar badges appear to be General List. He was probably in either the 36th Battery or the 58th Battery when the photo was taken. Note the stirrups he wears over his boots and the riding crop in his hands.
