Gordon Holm With Family Members

Circa 1939-1940

In this photo Gordon is wearing the uniform of the Cape Breton Highlanders and holds the rank of corporal. He has not yet transferred to the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. The others in the photo are left to right, Gordon's sisters Karen and Gloria Holm, and Gordon's mother Petrine Pauline. They are all in various uniforms. The photo was probably taken in Cape Breton.

Gordon Holm With Nephews

Circa 1939

Gordon holds his twin nephews Hans and Christian. The photo was probably taken in Cape Breton. It is not clear if he was in the Cape Breton Highlanders or the North Nova Scotia Highlanders at the time.

Gordon Holm

North Nova Scotia Highlanders

Circa 1940-1944

Gordon is wearing full battle gear and holds the rank of corporal. The pack on his chest holds a gas mask. Note the bayonet attached to the end of his rifle. The photo was taken in either Canada or England.
