Finlay Stewart Fraser in a Truck

Canadian Army Service Corps

France

October 2, 1918

Finlay Fraser is shown in the driver's seat of a truck in France. The other men are not identified. The name on the door of the truck is "The Flying Clara". At the time, Finlay was with the Canadian Army Service Corps but attached to the 28th Company, Canadian Forestry Corps. A Canadian Army Service Corp cap badge is just visible on his hat. His rank was private. Note the corduroy road or timber trackway leading off into the woods to the left of the truck. A corduroy road was constructed by placing logs perpendicuar to the direction of the road to help mobility when the ground was muddy or soft.
