Harry Tomes was from Halifax, NS. He became the Commanding Officer of the unit from 1963 to 1966.

The photo was probably taken during the late spring or summer. He wears a khaki drill shirt typical for Canadian troops in the Mediterranean theatre in the hot summer months. He also wears a beret with cap badge for The Princess Louise Fusiliers.
