Circa Early 1930's
Standing in the front centre is the commanding officer, Lt-Col. Horatio Ward Murdock from Amherst, NS. He commanded the unit from 1930 to 1936. He later commanded the North Nova Scotia Highlanders from 1941 to 1942, and took them overseas.
