Second World War Cape Breton Highlanders veteran.
4.  Lt-Col (Ret'd) Michael Leo McIntyre
Second World War Cape Breton Highlanders veteran. Commanded the 2nd Battalion from May 1, 1962 to November 1, 1966.  Former Honorary Lt-Col. of the 2nd Battalion and Honorary Colonel of the Nova Scotia Highlanders.
5.  Lt-Col. Mark Hugh Johnstone (Commanding Officer)
Commanded the 2nd Battalion from September 3, 1985 to October 14, 1989.
6.  Col. Ian Duncan Curry Macintyre (Commander, Cape Breton Militia District)
Commanded the 2nd Battalion from September 1, 1975 to June 3, 1979. Later, was Honorary Lt-Col. of the 2nd Battalion and Honorary Colonel of the Nova Scotia Highlanders.
