Three senior officers and a regimental sergeant major pose for a photo during an officers' mess dinner. Based on names written on the back of the photo, they are, left to right:

1.  Lt-Col. Mark Hugh Johnstone, commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion The Nova Scotia Highlanders (Cape Breton). He commanded the unit from September 3, 1985 to October 14, 1989.

2.  Lt-Col. Burt McLean, commanding officer of the 1st Battalion The Nova Scotia Highlanders (North).

3.  Unidentified Honorary Colonel of the 1st Battalion The Nova Scotia Highlanders (North).

4.  RSM John Clarke of the 2nd Battalion The Nova Scotia Highlanders (Cape Breton).
