Allistair Walker

Royal Canadian Engineers

February 7, 1942

This is a photo of Allistair Walker from Glace Bay, NS. He was nicknamed “Nacky”. The back of the original photo was date stamped February 7, 1942. The location is not identified. He was a friend of Jack Metcalfe.  His cap badge appears to be that of the Royal Canadian Engineers.

Sniper School Graduating Class

England

Circa 1943-1944

This is probably a graduating class from a sniper school. It would have been taken on a base in England before the Normandy invasion. The men are wearing camouflaged Denison smocks and camouflaged helmets, and are holding Lee Enfield No. 4 MK1 T rifles. The only man identified in the photo is Allistair “Nacky” Walker from Glace Bay (refer to the previous photo). He is in the back row, third from the left.
