Crew

HMCS Lansdowne

Sydney, NS

Circa 1918

The HMCS Lansdowne was a government steamer that had been commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy and armed with a six pounder quick firing hotchkiss gun. It kept station as a guard ship just outside the gate section of the anti-submarine net that stretched across Sydney Harbour from Stubbert's Point on the north side of the harbour to South Bar on the south side.

Note the little girl in the front row, probably a daughter of one of the officers.

Also note the petty officer holding a creepy looking puppet.
